Da ich absolut keine Lust hatte wieder 4 Tage für die Rückreise an die Pazifikküste zu verschwenden, bin ich mit dem Flugzeug zuück nach Managua geflogen. Ich weiss, nicht wirklich nach Travelers Art, aber der Blick auf die Inseln war wunderschön und zumindest eine kleine "Ausrede". Von Managua ging es dann gleich weiter nach Leon, was eine wirklich schöne Stadt ist. Im Hostal hab ich Karin aus Schweden getroffen mit der ich dann angefangen habe die Gegend zu erkunden. Freitag sind wir nach Leon Viejo gefahren, wo Leon ursprünglich war, bis es von einem Erdbeben verursacht durch den Vulkan Momotombo zerstört wurde. Samstag wollten wir El Fortin erkunden, ein Fort nahe Leon, wo man einen großartigen Blick auf die Stadt haben soll. Dummerweise haben wir den falschen Weg genommen und sind so ungefähr 4 km in die falsche Richtung gelaufen. War trotzdem nen schöner Spaziergang und ein gutes Training für unsere Vulkantour.

As I really didn´t feel like spending 4 days to get back to the pazific, I went back to Managua by plane. I know, not really the travellers way, but the view on the islands was gorgeous and at least a little "excuse". From Managua I went straight to Leon, which is a really nice city. In the hostal I met Karin from Sweden with whom I started to explore the surounding on friday. We went to Leon Viejo, the original location of the city until it was destroyed by an earthquake caused by the Vulcan Momotombo. Satureday we wanted to explore El Fortin, which is an old fort near Leon and where you´re supposed to have a great view on the city. Unfortunately we took the wrong road and ended up hiking 4 km in the wrong direction. It was a nice hike anyway and a good training for our Vulcano tour.
