Um nach Suchitoto zu kommen mußte ich wieder durch San Salvador und da mein Trip sich leider langsam doch dem Ende zuneigt, hab ich dort dann mal nach nem Rückflugticket geguckt. Und ich hab nen billigen Flug nach Boston gefunden, was mir die Möglichkeit gibt noch ein paar Freunde an der Ostküste zu besuchen. Jetzt brauch ich nur noch nen günstiges Ticket zurück nach Berlin aus den Staaten.
War dann doch etwas später als ich in Suchitoto ankam und es war schon wieder Wochenende und alle Hotels waren voll (ausser die richtig teuren). Letztendlich hab ich dann noch nen Zimmer bei ner familie gefunden, die normalerweise nur monatlich an Einheimische vermietet. Sehr nette Familie (mußte mein begrenztes Fußballwissen über deutsche Teams wieder rauskramen für die Kids) und eine der kleinen Mädels hat mir dann eine großartige Pupusaria gezeigt - ein wenig teuer, aber so lecker! Auf jeden Fall ne Herausforderung für die Tacuba Popusas.

To get to Suchitoto I had to go through San Salvador again and as my trip is unfortunately slowely coming to an end I stopped there to look for a return flight. And I found a cheap flight to Boston, which makes a fine stop to visit some friends at the eastcoast. The only thing missing now is a cheap ticket out of the states.
I arrived kind of late in Suchitoto and since it was weekend again there was no place to stay for the night - all the Hotel (but the really expensive ones) were full. Eventually I found a room with a family who normally only rents rooms by the month to locals. Very nice family (had to get out my limited knowledge about german soccer again for the kids) and one of the girls showed me a great Popusa place - kind of expensive but so tatsy! Definitly a challange for the Tacuba ones.

Hab die Umgebung erkundet, wo ein cooler Wasserfall mit faszinierenden Steinstruckturen auf Grund vulkanischer Aktivität ist - ohne Wasser zwar, da Trockenzeit ist, aber trotzdem beeindruckend. Und wunderschöne Ausblicke auf den See Suchitlan, der durch die Stauung des Rio Lempa entstanden ist. Zurück im Dorf war dann ein kleines Dorffest im Gange, was sie wohl öfter haben am Wochenende, mit billigem Essen, Musik, kleinen Aufführungen von Kindern... Das Dorf war auch eins der Ballungsgebiete für die Revolutionäre während des Krieges, deshalb z.B. das Restaurant / Museum mit einer Waage, die einen Stapel Tortillas gegen eine Bombe wiegt.
I wäre beihnahe noch eine Nacht geblieben, aber das fest war nachmittags doch schon zu Ende und außerdem hab ich ja jetzt meinen Rückflug, so dass nicht mehr ganz so viel Zeit ist. Also bin ich weiter nach La Palma, dem letzten Stop in El Salvador.

Exploring the surrounding, where there is a great waterfall with amazing stone structures due to vulcanic activity - without water though, because it is dry seasson but still very cool. And great views on the artificial lake Suchitlan, created by damming the Rio Lempa. Back in town I could see a little village festival which they have often here on weekends, with cheap food, music and kids performances. The villige was also one of the main revolutionary villiages in the war, hence e.g. the restaurant / museum with a scale weighing a stack of tortillas against a bomb.
I was very tempted to stay another night, but the festival was kind of over in the afternoon, plus I have my returnticket now, so there is not too much time left. So I went on to La Palma, the last stop in El Salvador.
