Bevor ich wieder raus bin aus der Hauptstadt, bin ich noch zur Universidad Centroamericana Jose Simeon Canas (UCA) gegangen. Zum einen ist der Campus sehr nett und zum anderen ist da das Centro Monsenor Romero, ein Museum, das den Massakern und Attentaten des Krieges gewidmet ist - ins besondere Monsenor Romero, der erschossen wurde, während er gerade die Messe hielt.
Dannach wars dann höchste Zeit der Grßstadt zu entfliehen und ich hab den perfekten Platz gefunden: Lago de Coatepeque. Nett, ruhig und wunderschön. Und ich hab da 2 Jungs aus der derbsten Stadt getroffen (derbe, wat is´n det?) mit denen ich ne Menge Spass hatte.

Before getting out of the captial, I went to the Universidad Centroamericana Jose Simeon Canas (UCA). For one I is a really nice campus I wanted to explore. And they have the Centro Monsenor Romero there, a museum dedicated to the massacres and assassinations of the war - mainly to Monsenor Romero, who was shot while giving a mess!
After that it was time to escape the big city again and I found the perfect place: Lago de Coatepeque. Nice, quite and beautyful. And I met two guys from Hamburg there, I had a lot of fun with.

Früh aufstehen, um ne Menge Zeit im Park zu haben. Ne gute Idee, aber leider haben wir ca. 2 Stunden auf den Anschlußbus an einer Kreuzung gewartet... Naja, letztendlich sind wir im Parque National Cerro Verde angekommen. Im Gegensatz zu den ganzen anderen Touristen da, wollten wir den Vulkan Izalco raufklettern, der zwar nicht so spektakuläre Ausblicke haben soll wie der Vulkan Santa Ana, aber dafür so aussah, als macht es mehr Spaß ihn zu erklimmen. Sicherheit wird ganz groß geschrieben in dem Park - wir durften nicht ohne Guide hoch und und es ist immer Touristenpolizei dabei. Also sind wir drei und nen alter Amerikaner zusammen mit einem Guide 2 Polizisten den Berg hoch. Der Ami hats nicht gepackt und ist auf halber Strecke zurück mit einem der Polizisten (wir haben ihn auf dem Rückweg wieder eingeholt).), und hat damit den besten Teil verpaßt: den Abstieg, was mehr ein runterrutschen war und (leider) nur 5 Minuten gedauert hat (verglichen mit einer Stunde für den Aufstieg...)

Getting up early to have plenty of time in the park. A good idea, but unfortunately we spent about two hours waiting for the connecting bus at a crossroad... Well, eventually we arrived at the Parque National Cerro Verde. In contrast to all the other tourists there, we wanted to climb the vulcano Izalco, which is supposed to have the less spectacular views compared to Vulcano Santa Ana, but looked more fun to climb. Security is apparently a big big thing in this park - we were not allowed to go without a guide and there is always tourist police joining. So it was us three, an old american guy, the guide and two tourist police officers going up. The american guy gave up half way and went back with one of the police guys (we caugth up with them on the way back.), so he missed the fun part: going down, which was more sliding on the rocks and did only take five minutes (compared to an hour climbing up...)

Den ganzen Tag chillen am See, in der Sonne braten, schwimmen, lesen... Nicht mehr, aber auch nicht weniger.

A day to chill at the lake, burn in the sun, swimm, read... Not more but not less as well.
