Reisetag. Fr6uuml;h morgens gings los und eigentlich war der Plan direkt bis San Gerado zu kommen. Hat nicht ganz geklappt und so hab ich in San Isidro Zwischenstaton gemacht. In Nachhinein gar nicht so schlimm, Wäsche waschen war mal wieder überfällig, im Internet war ich auch ewig nicht...

Travelling day. I started early in the morning and the original plan was to go directly to San Gerado. Didn't quite work out so I had to make an intermediate stop in San Isidro. Actually, not quite so bad, laundry was overdue, it has been a long time without Internet...

So, heute gings dann endlich nach San Gerado, wobei ich zwischendurch doch Zweifel hatte, ob der alte Schulbus wohl den Berg hochkommt. Ein nettes Zimmer hab ich auch gefunden, und sogar noch ein paar Leute getroffen, die mir noch ein paar Infos geben konnten für den großen Aufstieg morgen.

Finally: I arrived in San Gerado today, although I had my doubts whether the old school bus will make it up the mountain. Found a nice room and also meet some people to get the last infos before the big climb tomorrow.

Morgens um 6 gings los: der große Aufstieg auf den Cerro Chirripo. 20km von ca. 2000m auf 3820m. Unten war das Wetter noch ganz schöner aber je höher es ging, desto kälter und n&aunml;sser wurde es. War dann aber doch schon nach ca. 6 Std oben beim Hostel, wo dann erstmal Pause war. Da hab ich auch Uwe aus der Schweiz getroffen, mit dem ich dann noch die letzten 5km und 400 Höhenmeter in Angriff genommen hab und zusammen haben wir den Gipfel bezwungen.

Starting at 6 in the morning: the big climb of Cerro Chirripo. 20km starting at around 2000m climbing up to 3820m. When I started, the weather was still nice and sunny, however, the higher I got the foggier and colder it became. It took me around 6 hours to get to the hostel, where I also met Uwe from Switzerland. From there we went the last 5km and 400 altitude difference to the summit together.

Nach unserem Gipfelsturm gings auch gleich ab ins Bett. War eine sehr nass-kalte und dadurch auch relativ kurze Nacht. Der nächte Morgen hat uns zwar mit Sonne belohnt, aber trotzdem haben wir uns ziemlich früh wieder an den Abstieg gemacht. War zwar nicht ansatzweise so anstrengend wie der Aufstieg, aber unten angekommen war für den Rest des Tages trotzdem nur noch chillen angesagt.

When we returned to the hostel we immediately went to bed. It was a very wet and cold night, and thus also a short one. The next morning was quite sunny, but we nevertheless started the descend pretty early. The descend was not nearly as exhausting as the ascend, but once down again in San Gerado the rest of the day was only relaxing.

War nicht viel los heute. Ausschlafen, faulenzen, Museklkater bejammern... Ein richtig fauler Tag zum Erholen halt. War auch bitter nötig nach den Strapazen der letzten Tage.

Not much going on today. Sleep in, chilling, complaining about sore muscels... A lazy day for recovering, which was really necessary after the exertion the last days.
